Black pottery is made using a distinctive firing method, where clay (fuller’s earth) is sealed in kilns with organic materials like rice husk. The absence of oxygen during firing gives it its deep, dark tone and soft sheen.

Before firing, surfaces are etched with patterns—simple, rhythmic, and rooted in tradition. The result is both functional and decorative, used in kitchens as well as in everyday spaces.

The finish isn’t glossy in the usual sense—it has a muted depth that comes from the firing itself.
