Suzani Collection – Kashmir

Understated, yet rich in detail.

Suzani traces its roots to Central Asia, later shaped into its own expression in Kashmir. The name comes from the Persian suzan, meaning needle—a quiet nod to the craft itself.

Worked in fine chain-stitch using silk threads on cotton, each piece carries flowing florals, medallions, and symbols drawn from nature—sun, moon, vine. Motifs once held meaning, often tied to fertility, protection, and everyday life.

Traditionally made as part of dowries, these textiles now move easily across spaces—on beds, walls, cushions, or as bags meant to be used and carried.

No two pieces are alike. Variations in stitch, tone, and pattern come naturally with the process, giving each one its own presence.
